Entirely owned by local physicians, Monticello Community Surgery Center has been providing high-quality surgical care to central Virginia residents since 2003. In 2012 we changed our name after our previous partner (Martha Jefferson Hospital) was taken over by Sentara. At that time, we made the difficult decision to split because we wanted to stay local and remain community focused. That’s when we became Monticello Community Surgery Center. The Community is an important part of the name. From its inception, MCSC has delivered care to patients regardless of an ability to pay, donating millions of dollars in surgical services for those with reduced resources in the Charlottesville area.
In 2014 we relocated to a brand new, state-of-the-art and accredited facility center on 29 North where we’re been garnering positive reviews for our surgical outcomes, professionalism and modern facilities. The center is becoming a leading proponent in rational health care reform and is central Virginia’s first surgical facility to offer completely transparent pricing, a model that drastically reduces the cost of surgical services.
